It's not really an official dog park, but our three really like Antrim Lake in Westerville. There are always lots of people walking dogs on leashes, and good dogs can go off-leash and swim in one particular area of the lake. It's very muddy there so everyone's (dogs and people!) always very wet and messy by the time we leave. But the dogs love it! :)
There is a dog park at the Alum Creek State Park in Lewis Center, OH just north of the Polaris Mall. The dog park is on a 4-acre site along the Alum Creek reservoir near the Alum Creek Marina. The grounds include a fenced area with water access for dogs that enjoy water sports, and two additional fenced areas for small and large dogs.
I just went to the Bark Park in Dayton a few days ago. It is at the corner and Webster and Wyse Streets. It is nice and HUGE! And they have an agility course which is great for my Border Collie. The park is right beside the Animal Resource Center.
There is a dog park in Xenia, which is just east of Dayton off of US 35. It's pretty nice. I have been there often with our Newfs. I know of the Bark Park in Dayton and of the Dog Park at Alum Creek Park. I have heard that there is a dog beach at the Alum Creek Dog park!
I'm curious about the dog park in Centerville... where is it?
This is really closer to Cincinnati than Dayton but I will suggest it anyways. There is Wiggly Field at the Voice of America park in West Chester off of the Tylersville Rd. exit on I-75. It is big and pretty well kept, but there is no shade.
The only park I have found that is truly accepting as far as dog parks go, woul be the Prarie Oaks Metro Park - The Lakes. There, dogs are permitted off leash and there is a 2.5 mile dog trail that goes thru out the park. There are 3 seperate lakes in which a dog can swim. The only problem I have encountered is some owners not picking up after their dogs. Its a nice place to go, and fishing is permitted.
Yes, that's correct! I went to this dog park right after it opened. It offers two fenced in areas; one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. We were the only people there, so I think it's somewhat of a secret still!
I went to a dog park in Montgomery County next to the animal shelter where I got Scooter. It was really big and scooter loved it. I am not sure if that is the Bark Park you are all talking about
